Confirmation

Confirmation

“Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the ‘sacraments of initiation,’ whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.” (CCC 1285)

The sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated annually for our eight grade students at St. Vincent de Paul school and those enrolled in our Religious Education Program.

For adult Catholics who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation it is desirable to do so and may do so at the Easter Vigil after appropriate catechesis. For those converting to the faith and enrolled in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) are Confirmed at the Easter Vigil. If interested in OCIA, please contact Lydia Brennan in the Parish Office at lbrennan@svdpvikings.com.
